About the Artist

Resin artist Jane Biven has been a pioneer in her field since 2010. As one of the first artists to research, explore, and develop the resin art craft, she has mastered the techniques and chemistry behind it. Today, epoxy resin art is practiced by artists, hobbyists, and DIY enthusiasts worldwide, thanks to her groundbreaking work. Jane's creations have been featured in art and design magazines and TV shows and can be seen in local galleries and private collections worldwide and in select Hilton Hotels around the globe.

Jane believes artwork transforms the space in which it is displayed. Therefore, it should not be random but chosen. It should reflect the space or the owner's statement, mission, message, or purpose.
The right piece of art is essential. Size and scale are important, but energy (color and form) should be the first consideration.

Jane Biven – Resin Artist

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Jane Biven has captivated audiences with her dynamic resin artworks since 2012. While she discovered her passion for painting later in life, this unconventional path has proven to be an asset rather than a limitation. Her artistic maturity, strong work ethic, and deep self-awareness—shaped by years of life experience—set her apart from traditionally trained artists.

Biven’s large-scale abstract paintings are bold and explosive, blending invigorating energy with a soothing depth. Inspired by music, nature's raw beauty, and feng shui principles, her expressionist works reflect a profound connection between emotion and form.

Working predominantly with epoxy resin, Biven takes an unorthodox approach. More of a fluid, intuitive process. Her fearless exploration of the medium allows the artwork to evolve organically as she continuously refines and redefines her techniques.

For Biven, painting is both an emotional release and a self-healing ritual—a pursuit of balance and beauty on the canvas and within herself. Experimentation fuels her creative process, making each piece a journey into the unknown. To experience Jane Biven’s art is to embark on an adventure where the destination is always a surprise—but the result is nothing short of mesmerizing.

Artist Statement:

I am a resin artist creating contemporary abstract paintings using my original technique. My complex process combines ink and acrylics with epoxy resin. Careful layering and manipulation produce vibrant, energetic paintings with a glass-like finish. I have mastered the skills and chemistry of my medium, to further develop the process and expand its boundaries. Concentrating on the process, rather than the meaning, my spontaneous creations are purely emotional.

“Music is my sole inspiration. I always paint to music.

I translate the audible to visual, it is like I paint what I hear.

Lyric and melody become color and form,

As I construct a painting like composing a song.

My paintings are symphonies of color!"

Completely self-taught, my methods are unorthodox and rarely involve an easel or a brush. Armed only with gravity, patience, and self-restraint, my creative ritual is both liberating and exhilarating. I experience a freedom like no other, achieved by relinquishing control to "fluidity” (the natural path of liquid). Fluid motion is beautiful perfection, the flow is controlled only to a point — which is a good life lesson. It is about learning how and when to let go.

Elevator Speech

Contemporary abstract paintings deliver an impact that is more potent than traditional figurative or subjective paintings. The personal connection of the individual perception/interpretation of an abstraction and its ability to command the mood of its audience are powerful. (And often underrated) Makes a first impression on visitors entering the room, creates a feeling, stimulates, or calms the energy within the room, all of which are initiated with color theory.

Want to boost productivity? Put people at ease? Calm and relax your clientele? Depending on your business, the atmosphere is essential to achieving your goals.
